Tengai Makyō (天外魔境, alternatively known as Far East Of Eden in the subtitle) is a series of role-playing games developed by Hudson Soft and Red Company. The franchise of Tengai Makyō is now the property of Konami, since its absorption of Hudson Soft in 2012.
About[]
The franchise was created by Red Company (Oji Hiroi), having its first RPG title and considered the first CD-ROM RPG in history, Tengai Makyō: Ziria, released for PC-ENGINE CD in 1989.
The franchise is best known for its 2D gameplay style and much of its graphics, but this changed with the release of Tengai Makyō III: Namida and the remake of the first game for Xbox360, with its visuals and gameplay style completely 3D.
The franchise has spawned several spin-offs, including non-canon RPGs, fighting games, and more.
